The idea of a home town is powerful. It speaks to a comfort and wholesomeness that seems largely lost in the hustle of 21st century life. Ten Trails, Southeast King County’s first master plan community, (MPC) has reimagined this ideal for today’s young families.
Oakpointe Communities came to us with a unique community being built sustainably from the ground up to include just about everything you’d want, they just needed a compelling way to talk about it.
Given that MPCs carry a certain amount of baggage (baggage that you won’t find at Ten Trails), our first task was to build a brand platform that distanced them from more typical big developments. We also needed to amplify what it does include—a strong community center, thoughtful infrastructure and an abundance of recreational opportunities. To do this we built a brand platform around the insight: your new home town. This insight evokes everything people believe MPCs are not but that Ten Trails actually is: authentic, comfortable, engaging.
The logo, visual identity system and website were natural extensions of this idea. With clean lines, soothing colors and photography that evokes the pristine beauty of the Pacific Northwest, it appeals both to families familiar with Southeast King County and those new to the area. Engaging functionality on the website also invites future residents to help make the town what they think it should be.
The result is a brand that more and more Puget Sound area families are calling home.
