We are thrilled to report since the inception of this campaign, the FDA has changed their policy and lifted the ban against gay and bisexual men donating blood.

Special thanks to the Healthcare Digital Marketing Awards for recognizing our efforts with the 2023 Gold award.

America’s facing the largest blood shortage in history, but the FDA is turning donors away. It’s absurd.

Every year 615,000 pints of blood aren’t donated because of the FDA’s restriction on men who have sex with men (MSM), and women who are with a man who’s ever had sex with another man. Their policy doesn’t consider lifestyle, safety precautions, or science—it just focuses on sexual orientation. Anyone can get into an accident or get sick, so everyone should be able to donate.

Petitions to end the FDA’s policy:
