Public Relations Senior Account Manager

Seattle / Hybrid
We’re looking for a Seattle-based PR senior leader to join our award-winning team. The ideal candidate will be experienced, adaptable, a creative thinker and curious and enthusiastic about the future of communications. You are a senior-level media relations pro with extensive experience developing and executing strategic PR campaigns, leading media relations and building relationships with journalists, influencers and content creators. You understand how media, influencer partnerships and social media can work together to build brand awareness and support client objectives. This candidate has a love of travel, tourism and hospitality as these are the clients we enthusiastically service (did we mention we have pretty amazing clients?).

As a Senior Account Manager, you will be:
- Leading and strategically guiding key accounts acting both as a client point of contact for larger accounts, guiding day to day deliverables, strategy development and more. Working closely with junior team members to coordinate and complete each step of the PR process
- Support the development of media strategies, client strategic planning and creative, and lead top-tier media outreach, identifying opportunities to incorporate influencer and content creator partnerships into broader PR campaigns.
- Staying up-to-date on news, industry and cultural trends, social media platforms and emerging communications opportunities impacting client industries and proactively identifying key opportunities for clients to activate
- Coordinating with agency departments on integrated requests, when needed
- Participating in mentorship and training programs for junior staff development
- Overseeing the development of briefs, statements of work and project templates and tools
- Support development of GreenRubino’s growth through networking activity, industry events and new business pitches.
The basics
You have 6-8 years of experience in public relations, communications, and/or client service in a related field in an agency environment. You’ve worked with brands in the consumer lifestyle sectors (travel, food/beverage, hospitality, beauty, non-profit). You’ve worked on multiple account teams at once and interacted with clients regularly both leading and supporting accounts. You’re an experienced media strategist and have secured top tier coverage for your clients.

You are an excellent communicator and able to clearly and concisely deliver your message. You understand how to change your communication style depending on your audience. You’re comfortable presenting to clients and colleagues.
You are organized and time-efficient. You’re able to manage working on several projects while maintain high-quality work. You’re detail-oriented and deadline focused. Time management is a character strength of yours.
You’re an experienced media strategist and have secured top-tier coverage for your clients. You have an understanding of the influencer and content creator landscape and some experience identifying partnership opportunities that align with client goals.
The nitty-gritty
- Undergraduate degree in public relations/communications or a related field
- Six or more years work experience in non-profit/travel/lifestyle PR and corporate communications
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, multi-tasking, unique work environment
- Proven ability to resolve client issues quickly and efficiently
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Solid portfolio of secured media coverage to include national, magazine, newspaper, TV and online clips (big picture feature placements are a must).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the media, including journalists, digital publishers, bloggers, influencers, and content creators
- Comprehensive knowledge of the industry
- Working knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, and emerging channels.
- Knowledge of SEO, AI-powered search and emerging digital discovery trends are a plus.
- Proven experience implementing PR campaigns and navigating media relations and reputational issues, including social media, is a plus
- Some experience with influencer and content creator partnerships, including research, outreach, vetting, and identifying opportunities to support PR campaigns, is a plus
- Knowledge in consumer brands, travel, tourism and hospitality is a plus
- Experience in supervising junior staff is a plus
Annual Salary Range: $80,000-$93,000
PR Internship
The PR intern supports project management and media relations activities for a variety of PR accounts and teams. Interns will have hands-on, real-world public relations and communications experience while learning about a range of lifestyle industry clients, specializing in the travel, wine, food and consumer products industries.
While this position will directly support the PR department, interns are exposed to a fully integrated marketing agency specializing in advertising, brand development, direct marketing, event marketing, interactive design and development, media planning, buying strategy and more.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the PR team members with project management activities including media tracking, media clipping, reports, editorial calendar management and research
- Develop press releases, media alerts, media lists and pitches
- Develop media briefs and itineraries
- Select media pitching, once messaging is approved by senior team members
- Begin to understand and gain familiarity in client-related industries, including competitor analysis, industry trends and key media outlets
- Begin to understand and gain familiarity with agency best practices
- Understand and utilize public relations databases and programs to the fullest extent needed
- Begin to develop an understanding of media contacts within the clients’ industries
Qualifications
- This internship is specifically for students who are currently earning their degree
- Must be available to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week for the spring and fall semester internships. Must be available to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week for the summer internship.
- Familiar with AP-style
- A general understanding of the public relations industry
- Ideal candidates have experience in a communications, journalism, public relations or English program; possess strong attention to detail and writing skills; and enthusiasm for the public relations industry.
- Public relations-specific writing experience, prior internship experience and social media skills are a plus!

- Week 8 – Full media outreach project – draft media materials, media list and pitch. Send pitch.
- Week 9 – Strategy development. Continue to work on projects as they’re available and work towards completing your internship goals.
