GreenRubino Acquires Seattle Creative Agency Rupert

GreenRubino has acquired Rupert, a Seattle creative agency founded in 2010 with a reputation for work that earns attention and moves people to act.
The acquisition brings Rupert's full creative capability into GreenRubino's integrated offering, adding a shop with a distinct point of view, deep category experience, and a body of work built around a simple but demanding standard: make it work.
Noah Tannen, Rupert's founder, joins as Director of Strategic Partnerships. Mark Mirabille, creative lead and partner, joins as Director, Brand Experience. They bring the thinking, the relationships, and the creative culture that made Rupert worth acquiring.
We Were Looking for the Right Shop, Not Just More People
There's a version of growth that's just adding headcount. This isn't that.
What drew us to Rupert was the work and the thinking behind it. Noah and Mark built a shop with a real point of view, creative that doesn't just look good but actually performs. Their mantra, "Make Work That Works," could have come from our walls.
"Noah and Mark built something at Rupert that a lot of agencies talk about but few actually pull off, a creative shop with a distinct point of view and work that earns attention," said John Rubino, partner at GreenRubino.
The conversations that followed confirmed what the work suggested. We see the industry the same way. We believe the best ideas don't live in a single channel. We believe audience understanding isn't a phase of the process, it's the foundation of it. And we believe that creative, media, and PR work better when they're built together from the start, not handed off in sequence.
"At Rupert, our mantra has always been 'Make Work That Works,' creative that actually moves people to act and is realistic about how humans behave. GreenRubino shares that audience-first mentality. Bringing the agencies together removes limitations on what we can offer our clients," said Noah Tannen, Director of Strategic Partnerships.
What We Can Do Together
Here's what gets us genuinely excited: the ideas that become possible when you remove the constraints of a single discipline.
Mark has a word for it: asymmetrical. Ideas that don't fit neatly on a billboard or into one channel, but that compete disproportionately because they're built to break through and move people. That kind of thinking thrives when creative, media, and PR are in the same room from day one — which is exactly the environment we've been building.
"Projects are rarely just creative or just media anymore. Our channels have become so fragmented that you really need to think creatively about how to get a message heard. GreenRubino gives us the ability to propose ideas that don't fit neatly on a billboard or into a single channel and can compete disproportionately because they break through the clutter to move people to act," said Mark Mirabille, Director, Brand Experience.
For Rupert's clients, this means access to a much wider range of capabilities — strategy, media, public relations, content, and web — along with Gradient, our proprietary audience intelligence platform currently in beta. Gradient is designed to surface the kind of audience insight that shapes not just the message, but the entire approach. And now, for the first time, Rupert clients will have that connected directly to the creative work that follows.
The combination also adds meaningful category depth: consumer packaged goods, travel and tourism, and technology join a bench that already spans healthcare, financial services, transportation, education, and more.
This Is What Moving Forward Looks Like
Bringing Rupert into GreenRubino is part of a deliberate stretch of investment in creative leadership. It follows the recent appointment of David Newman as Creative Director, who brings more than 25 years of experience including 16 years at Visit Seattle, where he shaped the destination brand across campaigns, content, digital platforms, and brand experiences.
Together, these moves deepen what GreenRubino can do in ways that matter: more creative range, more category experience, and more capacity to take an idea from audience insight through strategy, creative, media, PR, and execution without losing the thinking that made it powerful in the first place.
"GreenRubino has been around for 49 years because we've never stood still. This acquisition is us taking our own advice. We saw an opportunity to strengthen what we can do for clients, and we went after it," said Stacia Allen, partner at GreenRubino.
Rupert is here. We can't wait to show you what we build together.
