FareStart, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives through food, needed a comprehensive redesign and development of their website to enhance their brand experience, support PR and marketing efforts, and ensure accessibility and inclusivity. Their former site was content-heavy combined with navigation issues led to user fatigue. Additionally, FareStart required a more robust yet flexible CMS platform to simplify ongoing updates, and ensure stability and scalability over time.
We began with an extensive discovery phase, including stakeholder interviews and audience research to understand FareStart’s unique needs and how they’ve evolved. Using these insights, we redesigned the navigation and information architecture to be intuitive, align with their current programs, and encourage deeper exploration without fatigue.
We developed a cohesive visual approach aligned with their visual identity, including new images and videos of students and supporters to bring the organization to life online. The enhanced user experience features clear, concise messaging and a cohesive representation of FareStart’s programs, supported by a mix of informative, educational, and engaging content. We incorporated front-end animations to enhance the experience and highlight key success metrics around FareStart’s impact.
The custom WordPress CMS we developed streamlined content management with custom modules designed to simplify content authoring for FareStart’s internal teams. The platform was designed to be lightweight and secure with minimal use of plugins. This digital transformation has not just boosted metrics; it has revitalized the way FareStart connects with its community, ensuring that every click and interaction helps fuel their mission to transform lives through food.
